About Elisa

head shot Elisa (2)Elisa Cotroneo is a Registered Somatic Movement Educator and Therapist. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Dance and is a graduate of the Somatic Movement Therapy Training Program in Massachusetts. For more than 35 years Elisa has followed her passion to understand the relationship between spirit and the body and trained with many of the pioneers in the field of Movement Education and Therapy. Her life’s journey has been blessed with the presence of spiritual elders from North and South America, India and Tibet. Each teacher has shared their traditional wisdom of the power of movement and sound to bring us closer to our true selves. Elisa synthesizes these teaching into a unique form of movement meditation while honoring the roots of Yoga, Qi Gong, Authentic Movement, Mindfulness, and Dreamwork.


At 79 years old I had not exercised for 5 years and knew I needed to get moving. I was VERY apprehensive about trying Yoga again but after one session with Elisa I felt at ease. Some of the reasons I enjoy my classes…~ My group is small and everyone in the group is about the same age and ability.~ Elisa has not planned the session so that one size fits all. She is very astute in recognizing the needs and capabilities of each person, resulting in a constructive and instructive program which meets the needs of the individual and the group. . ~ I am learning so much about my body, how it is “put together”, how I can strengthen it, and how I can achieve more range of motion while maintaining and improving my balance. Now at 80 + years I attend one individual and one group session per week and look forward to each session.

With Elisa’s skillful guidance I was able to transform my challenging childhood experiences and gain a deeper sense of confidence and courage. Elisa helped open my heart to receive spiritual treasures from the universe.

I always hope to slow down + I always do ~ I come away from class with:
